We believe that one of the best ways to share information and build community is through family conferences. We find that these event can be truly impactful to the families. There is something about being in the company of others who share a similar life experience – with all its unique challenges and special blessings. Bonds are made quickly in such an environment. At family conference, you realize that there is much to be learned from each other, that you are a part of a larger family, that your affected children are valued without explanation, and that their siblings are seen as heroes too.
We connect families and professionals to provide pertinent information regarding Ring14 advances and treatments. Tailored to benefit the entire family, our conferences include scientific, genetic and clinical discussions, and group activities. Sessions will be held on the latest research, treatment and therapies with views from clinicians, providers, and parents. Break-out sessions have also been organized for Moms and Dads that offer a wonderful opportunity to gather with other parents and share the challenges, fears, hopes and successes of raising a family with Ring14 in the mix.
Our next family conference will be July 13- 15, 2023 in San Antonio, TX. We will be staying at the beautiful hotel: Estancia del Norte and the conference will be held at Morgan’s Wonderland. Families will be greeted Wednesday night at an informal checkin/reception. On Thursday, we will have one full day of conference for the parents while the children are entertained by buddies at the park under the supervision of an RN. Friday will be a hybrid day where families are able to participate in research opportunities, play at the park, socialize with other families. Saturday is all about fun and community! We’ll spend that day at Inspiration Island splashing around at a fully assessable waterpark.
